ABOUT painting:

Painting is about inventing new ways, -or personal ways- of displaying light, shadow, colors, shapes, and composition. These classic fundamentals are what inspired many painters and I'd like to keep the conversation going in a contemporary dialog.

Lines and shapes are some sort of dialog for me that translate some mysterious geometry behind the visual lines. Shadows and colors do too in a more emotional way. I am still researching these infinite relationships behind all of these.

Shapes, colors, shadows and composition are a dialog in themselves that seem to indicated a mysterious and evading relationship of things in everyday life, or of the invisible energy of things.

Also I'd like to convey day to day scenes from my life, as a commentary to contemporary and personal life. Like a journal that jots down day to day impressions that inspire me.
I would like to convey hope and inspiration.

I'd like the viewer to experience an emotion as well as some sort of coherence or "aha moment" of the ordinary life and visual life that makes or gives sense to life. I'd like to invite him/her to look at the daily visuals in a new way, and a transcended way if I may say so.

I may say that I went to a few schools and lots of years of studying art, but I found that it is when one forgets everything one learned that the most unique paintings emerge. I believe in intuition and gut truth that translate something ancestral, at the core of humanity, the mysterious life energy.

I often have a "vision" of a composition as I walk through the neighborhood that talks to me, or jumps at me. I then visualize the idea/vision in my mind and try to transpose it to the canvas.
